Today I announce my candidacy for the Republican nomination for Governor of Illinois.
I am running for Governor because the people of Illinois need a reason for hope. That reason is for a strong public voice with more control over government. I believe that the Promise of Illinois is the People, not the politicians. I will harness the expertise and ethical energy of our Illinois citizens for the good of Illinois and not for the self-aggrandizement of politicians and special interests.
In 2007, after researching the problems of Illinois, I established an organization called For The Good Of Illinois. Our mission is to bring transparency, accountability, efficiency and good government to Illinois. This is already improving our state.
In 2008, I witnessed first-hand the power of focused citizen involvement. I trained local volunteers to ask their local school districts to post their check registers on their websites and become financially transparent and accountable to their taxpayers. Together we posted over $1 billion of checks online. The Illinois people are ready to make demands of their government!
In Illinois today, “experienced” politicians running for governor, lack solutions to our most pressing problems. Most of these politicians do not even take website positions on education and healthcare, the two largest items in the budget and the most important staples of our society.
The most experienced Illinois politicians like George Ryan, Rod Blagojevich and others have not only violated the public trust, but also perpetuated a culture of corrupt politics. Within this circus, there has been a terrible lack of solutions to our most pressing problems.
Springfield is the problem. In Illinois today, our political class has turned The Promise of Illinois upside down. Illinois is failing on education, healthcare and job creation while leading on gambling, corruption convictions, pension debt and total state debt.
Illinois needs a fresh face and new leadership to develop new solutions. Let us rekindle the true spirit of public service in Illinois. The purpose of public service is to serve our people. Public service should not be a process of enriching oneself, family or friends. Stand with me while we insist on good government!
I am a husband and a father of three daughters. I completed my entire academic education in the Illinois public school system. I founded a successful family owned publishing company and sold our product to small business owners across Illinois.
Let us make Illinois the best place to live, work and raise a family! I am advancing solutions to the problems of corruption , the unbalanced budget, affordable healthcare, failing education, rising property taxes, a decaying transportation system, and lack of job growth. Regular people live these problems; they must have a voice in the solution.
I am running for Governor because the people of Illinois need A Reason For Hope and that reason is citizen involvement to achieve good government.
Sincerely,

Adam Andrzejewski
