Dear Mr. Brady,

Congratulations on your appointment as the chairman of the Illinois Republican Party.  I hope your tenure will usher in a new era of GOP success for Illinois citizens, who deserve the opportunity to choose between two viable political parties.

As a candidate running for governor, I wish to give you a report from the campaign trail.  My experiences there have given me a unique insight into the promise, and the peril, awaiting the party you now lead.

First, the good news: Illinois citizens are ready for dramatic and aggressive reform.  As I travel the state, I hear not only from Republicans, but independents and Democrats as well.  They have seen the results of the one-party rule of the Democrats.  The people Illinois are willing to give Republicans a chance to prove they are the party to reform Illinois.  I know this because the people are responding very positively to my platform, which is at its core the platform of the Republican Party.

Now the bad news: Even in this environment, where the citizens are ready for positive change, the Illinois GOP you are inheriting appears unready and unable to deliver on the opportunities of this election cycle.  On the bright side, there is ample time to act.

Allow me to make some suggestions:

We need to rebuild the GOP.  However there is a right and wrong way to do that.  We can rebuild around fresh faces, fresh ideas and people who can articulate our message.  This will reinvigorate the alienated base, which seeks the bold leadership necessary to reverse the downward course of Illinois.

However, if we try to rebuild around the failed patronage model of "politics -- as -- usual," we will squander the opportunity to demonstrate at the GOP is the party of reform.

I want you to know that I am ready and able to assist you in the task of rebuilding the Illinois Republican Party.  Together, we need to;

• Welcome new faces and new ideas instead of supporting only party insiders
• Recruit and vet candidates and Precinct Committeemen that will run on, and promote Republican principles and policies.
• Provide new committeeman and candidates the tools and training necessary to ensure victory 2010 and beyond
• Pursue an effective outreach to every Illinois citizen, promoting the vision and benefits of adopting Republican ideals.

Pat, the fact is that past members of our Republican Party abandoned Republican principles of smaller, efficient, and better government in favor of the Deomcrat's patronage model.  This caused 1000s of our most active citizens to abandon the GOP. This should be no surprise, as patronage requires high taxation, expensive borrowing, and the waste and corruption that go along with them.   The result has been the loss of every constitutional office in the state, as well as devastating losses in the Legislature.  It is time to change course, and the voters are ready for such a change.

My hope is that you Pat, become the most successful chairman in the history of our party.  In my campaign for governor, I hope my efforts can complement yours, and that together we can rebuild the Republican Party.

Sincerely,
Adam Andrzejewski

R epublican Party has to teach the people what is the proper R ole of government. Illinoisians need to learn that with our inalienable R ights comes personal R esponsibility. The Democrat platform is not about R eform but of patronage, bribery, extortion, cronyism, and nepotism. The government has to give more R espect to the people who make Illinois. The Republican plan must be about R ebuilding communities begging with the individuals, family and the communities, to become a partner not its inforcer were the R elationship is of the people, by the people and for the people. Illinois needs a better game plan to use its R esources better so its people, business, enviroment and innovation can grow. The government needs to use the new R evoltionary ideas from its people to R emake our state. The Republican Party needs to teach the people of Illinois the R's of the Republic

Dale- the Republican party can be reformed if we act now. Please review our Issues tab and see the Real Reform that we have put forward. These are policies that we can both agree with; policies that will move our state forward.

I am one of the people that have abandoned the Republican party. I find your suggestion that "there is ample time to act", laughable. How do you bring back something that is dead? It can't be done. Why would anyone with values have anything to do with such a corrupt group? Both major political parties have abandoned the American people and the principles of our founding fathers. There is no longer a dimes worth of difference between the two parties. I do agree that it is time to change the course, but that includes the demise of the Republican party. It's too late and I will no longer support anyone affiliated with either major party. By doing so would compromise my principles. Anyone running on the Republican ticket now, has embraced the same corruption that we have grown accustomed.
